This is pretty amazing in my estimation! Of course not all aperture, speed or focal length were compared. So this is very limited in scope. Nevertheless is real world, real time, real everything test.
But I am sure that if the images were color balance and sharpened in Photoshop the difference would be small to say the least.
Is a matter of fact I will do that next and posted here! Stay toned!!
HERE IT IS!!!!!
The Sigma and Soligor photos have being sharpened and color balanced to look like the Canon.
They were sharpened and balance by the same amount (I just copy and pasted values between files)

#1
Sigma 70-300mm DL Macro Super
#2
Soligor 100-300mm Macro f5
(even at f8 the Soligor has a nice slight bokeh)
Do you think that with the availability of Photoshop and money in short supply
is necessary to spend a fortune for professional looking photos?
I guess big egos get the best of us. Who does not want to walk around with an L
lens around his neck?
It is more about making a statement that real necessity.
Do you need a Ferrari to get from point A to point B?
